This past weekend was my favorite event, the
Porter Flea. This handmade market happens twice a year and I look forward to it every time. The best part is that I get to walk around and look at all the cool stuff that my talented friends make. There are so many creative people in Nashville and they were all packed into
Marathon Music Works this past Saturday. I was in craft heaven. There was a line to get in that went around the block. Steve lovingly dubbed the flea "Black Friday for Hipsters" which wasn't
that far from the truth.
This lovely lady is
Kari and she works for the
Trunk mobile boutique. Kari is obviously super fabulous and fashionable, but she is also a talented jewelry designer. Check out her wares
Chaotic Goods! I want her hair
SO BADLY.
Of course my first stop was to see
Kaelah over at the Honeybean. It was so busy! There was a line to get in and out of the camper. That is excellent for Kaelah and Mike- and they deserve it for creating Nashville's first mobile store. They are such wonderful people and I was happy to spend a few moments with them. (Also, why am I looking like a goober in this picture? Kaelah always looks glamorous and I have no eyes.)
This pretty lady is my friend Katie. I used to live with her and her sister a few years ago. Both of them are darling ladies. Here I am modeling my Cat Lady plaque made by Kaelah. It's fitting I'm posing with Katie- she is the one who got me addicted to cats. Yes, it counts as an addiction.
This is the lovely Elle and her sister of
Jam+Toast. They make really awesome cards, invitations- whatever! If you need a wedding announcement Elle is your gal. I'm loving her
2013 desk calendars.
This is the lovely May of
Tricycle Sweets Company. She makes delicious goodies that get peddled around town on her decked out tricycle.
These dresses are made by
Sweet Cycle Apparel. I loved talking to the Chattanooga ladies who make these fine duds. All the dresses had wonderful collars and all the shorts were high-waisted! Too bad my budget was small. I really want to save up for one of these unique beauties.
These two dapper gentlemen are
Carl and
Tim and they make awesome art. They are also some of the guys that I watch Breaking Bad with. Because that show ended SO LONG AGO I haven't seen them in a long time. Also, I never knew about all the amazing art they made until I ran into them at the Porter Flea. These talented boys were holding out on me. Also, I love the amount of flannel in this picture.
This is Andy and the lovely young ladies of
Boss Construction. Andy is crazy talented and I think most of the posters in my house are his. He is also one of my favorite people- always welcoming with a big smile. I think that all printers are really good people- that's my theory.
And speaking of really nice guys who make really good posters- here are the dudes from
Grand Palace and
Monkey Ink Design. These guys are so talented. Steve has a ton of their work and has been a fan of theirs for a while now.
How cute is
Olivia? No really.
Oh, and our boots!
My sweet friend and fellow hula-hooper Carrie of
Sabrosa Vintage was at the market again! She is always one of my favorite booths to visit because she always has the best vintage clothing. I had my eye on a sweet matching sweater poncho/skirt outfit and someone snagged it right before me!
And this is my favorite - all 3 of the Laurens in one location.
Lauren T,
Lauren W and me! These ladies are so super sweet and I loved
Lauren W's little star hair clips. I regret not picking one up. Oh how I love the Porter Flea! I've already started looking forward to the spring one!
