Polka Dots and Flamingos

I love taking an old piece and mixing it with something new.  This is one of my favorite thrown together outfits. I like both pieces, and to make them work together all they needed was a belt. How simple!

The shirt was a present from a friend at an old job.  Her mom had sewn this top for her when she was a teenager in the 60s. The fit is awkward, as it was custom made for someone else- but the print is like nothing I've seen recently.  That mustard color kills me.

Have I mentioned that I'm totally obsessed with animal prints? Any time I see a blouse with a cat pattern on it I swear it was made for me.  Last fall anthro had a line of animal print blouses, skirts, and dresses.  I had to partake (although at winter sale prices) and now that the weather is better I finally get to wear them.

The infamous Old Red Boots.  I think they go with every outfit. No matter what.
Shirt: Vintage *homemade

  2. Wow, what a special gift your coworker gave you! I think the fit is only just barely off in one shoulder, and really, like you said, the fact that it was made to fit someone else's body totally excuses that! Adorable outfit, though, looks like it was super fun to wear :)
