So Bonnaroo isn't all about the food. People generally go for the music if I'm not mistaken. Those crazy kids and their rock n' roll. Since I can't stuff my face every hour of the day, I plan on seeing my fair share of music. And let's just say that this year's line-up is pretty amazing. It's going to be very hard to choose! So in no particular order, here is a list of bands that I would love to catch. And I've even made a playlist! Check it out here!
Paul McCartney
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Bjork
Wilco
The National
The XX
Grizzly Bear
Empire of the Sun
Tame Impala
Foals
Father John Misty
Holy Ghost!
Cults
Four Tet
Japandroids
Death Grips
DIIV
Charli XCX
Am I missing anyone that you think I should see? Let me know!
Ooooh, you have a cool taste in music!!

Hah. Thanks Becky! I just listen to a LOT of stuff during the day. I can't work in silence!
DeleteThat's a lot of good bands! Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are from my hometown, so I'm a bit biased in that recommendation. Frank Turner is also awesome.
ReplyDeleteJason Isbell is good, just a little too "country" for my taste. I might check out the others as I'm not familiar with them. Thanks for the recommendation!
DeleteI don't know if you'd be into it, but Calexico is amazing live. I saw them a few months back at Mercy with Bahamas...and they blew my mind. It's South Western music with lots of horns and it's very dancy. I can't imagine anyone not liking it!
ReplyDeleteI love Calexico! I saw them in Boston way back. I just think that their set is in conflict with something else, but I can't remember what exactly now. If I can sneak in for a song or two, I will!
DeleteMy thoughts exactly! I was so bummed when I found out the people I went with last year weren't planning to go again this year because they didn't like the lineup. I mean, c'mon, Bjork?! Are you for real? Who wouldn't want to see her?!

I really dig Action Bronson and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.. I have been dying to see Tom Petty live! Super jealous.
ReplyDeleteGood list, but I second Calexico, and J.D. McPherson is awesome! If we were going I'd totally have to see Weird Al too.... haha :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle is right, JD McPherson is awesome, I'd have to go see Tame Impala, Dwight Yoakham and WU TANG! Oh, and Aesop Rock too.
