Farmer's Market #5

Hooray for finally getting back to half shares. We were having a hard time eating all the delicious veggies before they went bad. This basket is big, but I'm more likely to make a dent in this. Lucky for me it's still tomato season!

Our weekly share contained red potatoes, purple potatoes, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, squash, peppers and finally sweet corn! We're so glad to finally get some corn. The husks are a beautiful shade of green and they are holding on tight. I can't wait to cook these up with some butter and salt to serve with a nice fat steak.

And here is the little bounty from my garden. A handful of yellow pear tomatoes and one small red one. I cut these up and put them in a small salad with basil, mozzarella, chickpeas and balsamic vinegar. There is nothing better than that mixture on a hot summer day.

What is growing in your garden?

  1. The basket full of fresh veggies is too cute! I have basil growing in my garden, but everything else has fried up in the Arizona summer heat. I can't wait for fall when things will stay alive ;)
