Cat Lady Problems: Yarn

I love my cats. I love them. I also love knitting, crocheting and making pompoms. This means that I have a lot of yarn in my house. I have a craft storage unit (hooray Ikea) that houses most of my yarn. But when I'm making things, I sit on my couch in the living room. I have a little storage depot of yarn hanging out around the couch. Cats + Yarn=Mess. I know you ALL know that formula, but goodness. Look at how smug Special Agent Dale Cooper is after unraveling a whole skein of purple yarn and dragging it through the living room, kitchen, and hallway. SO MUCH SMUG.

    1. Haha! I try putting the yarn in boxes and bags but somehow they always find a way to dig it out. I need to get a master lock or something.

  3. Wonderful combo! Well, he's very cute but a little bit annoying I guess. Entered the competition and I'm really hoping to win! Your pompoms are just to cute!

  4. i had the same problem, until i started to put the yarn in plastic bags and made a knot, at least this keep my cats far from the yarn balls

    1. That does not work for me. He sits and paws at the bags until he opens the knot or rips the bag open. You just can't keep him away from yarn.

  5. Aww, he's so proud of his handiwork. Also: YOU NAMED YOUR CAT AFTER DALE COOPER? Love!! I dressed my boyfriend up as Agent Cooper last year for Halloween, but clearly, naming your cat after him is better.

I wish my boyfriend dressed up like SADC! Did you go as a TP character?

  7. He's sooo cute though!!!
Have you thought of using an old shoe box, making dividers for the different yarn on the inside and holes for you to pull the yarn through?
That might make it a little harder for him to get to (hopefully!)

(I suck at describing things, so sorry if it doesn't make sense to you!)

    1. That makes total sense! I get exactly what you are saying. I have used shoeboxes before, but he always finds away to open the lid. Perhaps if I cut holes in the side, I can tape the lid down!

You just gave me a new project!

Tofu likes to play with (and lose) expensive pencils, and his new favorite thing is hiding my tiny russian dolls
