Cat Lady Problems: Yarn
I love my cats. I love them. I also love knitting, crocheting and making pompoms. This means that I have a lot of yarn in my house. I have a craft storage unit (hooray Ikea) that houses most of my yarn. But when I'm making things, I sit on my couch in the living room. I have a little storage depot of yarn hanging out around the couch. Cats + Yarn=Mess. I know you ALL know that formula, but goodness. Look at how smug Special Agent Dale Cooper is after unraveling a whole skein of purple yarn and dragging it through the living room, kitchen, and hallway. SO MUCH SMUG.

I love that cat so much.
ReplyDeleteHe loves you so much. He wants to cut you open and live inside of you. THAT IS HOW MUCH HE CARES
DeleteHe looks pretty proud of himself.
ReplyDeleteSmug for life!
Deletehe is so cute. my husband leaves out thread all the time and it gets wrapped around everything in the living room! so annoying!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I try putting the yarn in boxes and bags but somehow they always find a way to dig it out. I need to get a master lock or something.
DeleteWonderful combo! Well, he's very cute but a little bit annoying I guess. Entered the competition and I'm really hoping to win! Your pompoms are just to cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Best of luck with the giveaway!
Deletei had the same problem, until i started to put the yarn in plastic bags and made a knot, at least this keep my cats far from the yarn balls
ReplyDeleteThat does not work for me. He sits and paws at the bags until he opens the knot or rips the bag open. You just can't keep him away from yarn.
DeleteAww, he's so proud of his handiwork. Also: YOU NAMED YOUR CAT AFTER DALE COOPER? Love!! I dressed my boyfriend up as Agent Cooper last year for Halloween, but clearly, naming your cat after him is better.
ReplyDeleteFirst, It was awesome meeting you this week. So sorry I was so FAR AWAY on that crazy long couch.
DeleteI wish my boyfriend dressed up like SADC! Did you go as a TP character?
Hahahaha this is awesome. I have the same problem. That cat is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteHe takes the cake! (and the yarn, and the toilet paper, and my pompoms)
DeleteHe's sooo cute though!!!
ReplyDeleteHave you thought of using an old shoe box, making dividers for the different yarn on the inside and holes for you to pull the yarn through?
That might make it a little harder for him to get to (hopefully!)
(I suck at describing things, so sorry if it doesn't make sense to you!)
That makes total sense! I get exactly what you are saying. I have used shoeboxes before, but he always finds away to open the lid. Perhaps if I cut holes in the side, I can tape the lid down!
DeleteYou just gave me a new project!
Hahahaa his face is brilliant!! He's so proud.
ReplyDeleteTofu likes to play with (and lose) expensive pencils, and his new favorite thing is hiding my tiny russian dolls
Does he put them under the couch? I find everything there!
Deleteyour cat is just too cute!
ReplyDeletereally wishing I have drops of creativity in my brain!
I can't even stitch.. LOL
anyway, I found your blog via Marisa from The Shades of Monet and I am so happy that I discovered your blog
definitely following you on GFC and bloglovin
hopefully you'd follow back :)

The Sweetest Escape
Welcome! So happy you found me. I will definitely check you out. And I'm sure you can knit if you want!
DeleteThanks. It was a very "quick, get the phone" moment.
ReplyDeleteI just started following you, and I LOVE that you named your cat Special Agen Dale Cooper. It's perfect. So. Purrrrrfect.
ReplyDeleteAww thank you! SADC says hello. And by hello I mean "meow"
DeleteOh my goodness, so freaking cute! When I had my cat he would do all sorts of naughty things and get away with it because he was just head to tail cute.
ReplyDeleteI just can't get mad at the guy. He looks at me and starts purring, I'm done.
